Performing and Accompanying:

As a performer, Martin’s principal instruments are piano, percussion, and viola. He has grade 8 piano and is in much demand as a rehearsal pianist and accompanist for recitals and concerts and also as an organist.

Martin has been Director of Music at St Mary & St Andrew Catholic Church in Dollis Hill, north London since November 2004, playing organ and directing his Family Choir and Adult Choir for weekly Sunday Masses as well as playing the organ for weddings and funerals throughout the year.

He has performed music of a wide variety of styles, from renaissance music to jazz and contemporary music. Martin has also played piano for a number of musicals produced locally, including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1997), Oliver (2003), The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (2004), Fiddler On The Roof (2004), Jesus Christ Superstar (2005) and West Side Story (2006).

As a percussionist, Martin has played drum kit and tuned percussion for shows and also with brass bands, including former 4th Section National Champions, Potters Bar Town Band.

Martin has played viola for ten years including three years experience playing with Essex Youth Orchestra, and since then has played with Brentwood Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as a guest player for a number of other orchestras.

Martin is a member of the ISM, and as such fees are quoted in accordance with their recommended rates.

Piano
As accompanist for a soloist £25 per hour
As accompanist for exams £30 per exam, includes one rehearsal with examinee
As accompanist for a choir, or as an organist for church services £18 per hour
Fees subject to negotiation depending on circumstances
